For me, beauty is the quiet awe of a sunrise igniting something deep within, or the full moon’s glow stirring emotions I didn’t know were there.
It’s the ocean’s embrace during a swim, or a forest trail that lets buried feelings rise — unjudged and simply witnessed.
Even grief, when I let it crack my heart open instead of burying it, becomes a path to truly living.
These moments, flowing with nature’s currents, reveal wellness beauty secrets that whisper:
Trust the process.
To me, that’s true beauty. It’s being authentic, embracing life as it unfolds, and owning my emotions without casting blame.
A Sensitive Soul’s Awakening
My search for inner peace began in my early twenties the 1980s.
I felt everything, in fact, too much sometimes. Back then, I couldn’t name it, but now I see it was a gift.
Working in hospitality, I thrived on deep, philosophical chats with guests that went far beyond small talk. Yet I struggled to untangle my emotions from theirs. This was a sensitive thread I couldn’t quite weave into words.
The ocean became my refuge. Sailing across the Atlantic on a 75-foot boat at 25, I found solace in its vastness. A friend handed me Krishnamurti’s Flight of the Eagle. I devoured that a slim, dense book twice on that crossing. It spoke to me, even if I didn’t fully grasp it, nudging me toward a holistic beauty journey I was only beginning to understand.
From Chaos to Clarity
A few years later, Deepak Chopra’s voice cut through the noise. His words landed like a lifeline as I shifted from hospitality to the spa world, becoming a massage therapist and aesthetician.
In the hushed rooms of luxury destination spas, I spent hours easing stress from others as I felt their tension mingle with my own restless thoughts.
Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success changed that. One idea stuck with me:
Living in the present.
Alone, I practiced it when I washing dishes, swimming, or simply being.
At work, it transformed my touch.
I noticed when I let my mind wander, clients felt tense. But when I stayed present, they melted into relaxation. Their discomfort faded under my hands.
I was hooked.
Energy in Motion
That presence fueled me as I leapt into energetic bodywork.
Studying polarity therapy and cranial sacral work, I met Avi Khadir. He was a wild-haired, Einstein-like teacher whose passion lit up the room. His lessons on the body’s energy currents clicked for me one day during my hot grueling Bikram yoga practice. As I held poses in the caressing heat, I felt life pulse through me, opening space and clarity.
I’d define that as true beauty from within—raw and unfiltered.
A French Connection
By 1998, fate nudged me again. Hunting for an apartment, I met a Frenchman new to the spa scene. He introduced me to a skincare line — PHYTO5.
He had a resort hotel in the French Alps where he’d incorporated these products and treatments rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Its products weren’t ordinary creams. They were energetically charged for radiant wellness beauty.
I was skeptical but intrigued.
Lying under colored chakra lights during a demo, I felt energy spiral through me in minutes. I was amazed.
They were looking for therapists willing to be trained in the European way. I saw the awesome potential in PHYTO5 and they saw potential in me as a therapist. And I dove into training while juggling spa gigs.
A Quarter-Century of True Beauty
For over 25 years, I’ve lived this holistic beauty journey, blending TCM’s ancient wisdom with PHYTO5’s vibrant products.
As an international trainer and U.S. educator, I’ve taught spa pros how to harness these wellness beauty secrets — balancing vital energy with every application.
My PHYTO5 journey has shaped me as much as I’ve shaped it.
A yoga teacher once said:
You can only teach who you are.
That mantra’s stuck with me. True beauty isn’t skin-deep. It’s the peace of aligning with nature, the courage to feel it all, and the grace to let it be.
What’s your true beauty? Maybe it’s time to find out.
